Solid Blockboard Core Doors
Engineered for Strength, Stability & Premium Finishes
- Nordex manufactures high‑performance Solid Blockboard Core doors, designed for durability and architectural versatility.
- Each door core is built from kiln‑dried timber strips, laminated into a solid, stable panel. Both faces are sheeted with your choice of:
- HMR XP Duracote
- HMR XP Raw
- MDF
- Plywood
- These can be finished with decorative timber veneers or High Pressure Laminate (HPL) to suit any design requirement.
Superior Surface Quality
To minimise show‑through and ensure a flawless finish, Nordex uses:
- 6mm thick door skins
- A cold‑press bonding system that maintains timber moisture stability. This method reduces surface distortion compared to hot‑press processes, resulting in a cleaner, more consistent appearance.

Timber Veneered Doors
Premium Decorative Timber Veneered Doors
- Nordex is a specialist in the manufacture of decorative timber veneered doors, supplying both commercial and architectural projects. With extensive experience and a reputation for quality, Nordex is one of Australia’s most respected producers of veneered door products.
We offer doors finished in:
- Natural timber veneers (local and imported species)
- Reconstituted veneers sourced from leading Australian suppliers
All veneers are pressed in‑house using our hot‑press system, allowing us to apply veneers to any of our MDF, LDF, or blockboard core doors with precision and consistency.
High‑Quality Veneer Edging
- To ensure a seamless finish, Nordex typically edges veneered doors with matching solid timber edge strips. Where matching timber is unavailable, we manufacture multi‑layer veneer edges for a visually consistent result.
Hardware & Glazing Preparation
Doors can be supplied with cut‑outs for:
- Locks
- Pivot mechanisms
- Flush bolts
- Seals
- Grills
- Glazed viewing panels
- We can also supply pre‑finished timber veneered doors — see Spray Polishing for finishing options.
Natural Timber Veneers
Natural veneers are thin layers of real timber, sliced or rotary‑peeled to a uniform thickness. Common veneer patterns include:
- Crown cut
- Quarter cut
- Book matched
- Slip matched
Natural veneers offer the beauty of real timber while being more cost‑effective and environmentally responsible than solid timber construction.

Key Benefits
- Excellent colour and grain consistency within each block
- Predictable, repeatable appearance for large‑scale projects
Notes on Variation
- Subtle grain differences occur naturally
- Batch dyeing may create slight colour variation between blocks
Common Lengths Available in Australia
- 2500mm
- 2800mm
- 3100mm
Reconstructed Veneers
Reconstructed veneers are produced by slicing laminated timber blocks made from various wood species. These blocks are:
- Dyed throughout
- Laminated under pressure
- Sliced to create consistent veneer sheets
