Solid Blockboard Core Doors
Nordex manufactures Solid Blockboard Core doors.
Blockboard is made up from kiln dried timber strips (pine) laminated together to form a solid panel which is then sheeted to both faces with either plywood or MDF skins.
These can have a decorative face veneer if required.
To minimize the problem with show-through, Nordex employs a cold press system when pressing the skins to the blockboard core.
This is done to minimize the disturbance of the moisture content in the timber, compared to when a hot press process is employed.
Standard thicknesses are 35mm, 40mm and 44mm
Standard sizes are:
2040 x 820mm
2100 x 900 & 1200mm
